The last week of May in Central Asia was full of large-scale national events. The region met delegations and representatives of various countries, the anniversary meeting of EAEU took place at Nur-Sultan, and bilateral fruitful meetings were held.
The analytic platform cabar.asia presents a brief review of the week’s most significant political events in the region.
«The sneering attitude towards democratic procedures and the rule of law is the predominant feature of both the mass consciousness and the worldview of elites in the post-Soviet space. «In accordance with the decline in the education level, the interest in Russian language starts to grow in Turkmenistan. “Just like the Karakum [Desert], the Turkmen information field is full of life despite its apparent lifelessness. Turkmenistan has two information fields, two information environments. One is sterile and has dead orderliness; another one has chaos and productive energy of communication,” a Turkmen analyst wrote in the article specifically for cabar.asia.

“The TAPI project can also be uneffective, since Turkmenistan is building its part until the border with Afghanistan and waits for the conflict and issues to stop in the next country. Of course, it is good to be optimistic, but the Taliban issue cannot be resolved in a short period, unless and constructive dialogue will be built.
